Windsor Castle before wedding

I had arranged trip to London for May 2018 and it coincides with the Prince Harry wedding on May 19th. Had planned a visit to Windsor Castle for this trip. Does anyone know if there will be closures of the castle prior to the wedding? What about any disruptions on the 19th in London?

I don't know for sure, but I would guess there will be closures close to that date. We have been to London a number of times and the first time, couldn't tour the Castle because of closure due to a Royal Family event there.

If you are there long enough, maybe it will reopen day or so after the wedding. Hope it works out for you!

Have a Great Trip!

If you go online you will see that tickets are closed for May 18 and 19. All other days in May were available. Previous discussions have indicated that in London, it will be business as usual.

Have a great trip.

Go to Hampton Court Palace instead if you haven’t been there. I would not want to be in Windsor the day of the wedding!

Thanks for the responses. I have booked a ticket for Windsor on Thursday, May 17 which works with my plans. I have been to London a dozen times and never managed to get to Windsor until this trip so I'm hoping for the opportunity. Was at Hampton Court several years ago in May with my sister and actually came home with a sunburn because it was gorgeous especially touring the gardens! I never tire of this city.

Just toured Windsor Castle 5/2/18. Wedding prep is in full gear with British flags adorning the town of Windsor. Most remarkably the town and Castle were relatively empty, no lines, we had the run of the place. Seems most tourists are wrongly staying away to avoid crowds and shutdowns, but everything is open now; and so very festive with anticipation. Absolutely splendid! A fantastic backdoor experience.

When you go to the castle, take a walk through Windsor Great Park and the village, too. :-) Its do lively there.

I meant ‘it’s so lovely’ :-)
Also research Queen Mary’s dollhouse before you see it- it’s fascinating,

St George's Chapel is simply magnificent. Don't skip that while at Windsor.
