To see as much as possible, could you give me your advice on Windsor Castle/St. George's Chapel.
I very much want to see both. I booked our group Windsor Castle tickets at 10am on a Monday, after reading more, I am thinking by the time we get out, St. George's Chapel will be very crowded. I read somewhere it said to go to Windsor at noon? Could you offer advice on how we should schedule the day. We are not in a hurry but if there is a way to avoid the large crowds, I appreciate it. We are going in April. If possible I would love to go to a service as well as tour the chapel. I did not see any times for that.
Thank you for your help
I went to Evensong at the Chapel. I had visited the castle earlier in the day. It was a lovely service.
St George’s Chapel isn’t open everyday to the public, they are open Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday to the public.
Evensong is at 5.15pm daily (said on Wednesdays and in School Holidays) , even on days when the Chapel and/or Castle is not otherwise open.
Sunday services are Sung Mattins at 1045, Sung Eucharist at noon and Sung Evensong at 5.15pm.
Unless you’re on a tour you can visit the chapel first if you’re concerned it will be busy. When finished you can visit the castle. Nothing says you have to visit the castle then the chapel. I’ve never been to the chapel for a service.
Get your ticket stamped before exiting the complex, if you think you might return, and then it will then be valid for a year.
