Wimbledon luggage storage

I'm heading directly to Wimbledon from Heathrow with a carry on and a backpack and plan to sit on Henman Hill. Will there be opportunities to store my items in "left luggage" close to Henman Hill? Other sites mention the possibility of luggage storage but I can't determine how far away or how close by to the grass seating area these options are. Would I have the option to keep my luggage with me on the Hill the entire time? Lastly, I understand the more appropriate tube stop is not in fact Wimbledon. Which tube stop is ideal for walking with a pull along carry on piece of luggage?
Cheers.

It looks like the 2 closest Tube stops (Southfields and Wimbledon Park) are about 2 miles from Henman Hill. There is a direct bus from Southfields that runs every 15 minutes to Henman Hill. I'm not familiar with the grounds at Wimbledon but is there a security screening that might not allow your 2 pieces of luggage, roller and back pack. Is there no time to go to your hotel first and drop your luggage into their storage if your room isn't ready yet?

This is rather vague as it doesn't give actual locations...http://www.wimbledon.com/en_GB/atoz/left_luggage.html

Edit: here is a map that shows the location of the left luggage locations. I believe E might be closest to your Hill. Do you have/need a ticket to the grass hill area? BTW the Hill area is called Aorangi Terrace.

I'm staying at a friend's house in the northeast section of the city, totally opposite direction of Wimbledon. We were planning to meet at Henman Hill. I will likely try to make it work by going directly there, and if I cannot enter with my things, we can go to the house and drop them off and come back. I would miss some of the action but not a total loss. Hopefully the weather will be nice. Thanks for the link.
Cheers.

That location E should work for me, thanks very much! I think it's 20 quid entry to grass seating, I was going to buy the ticket upon arrival.

Others having been there more recently should correct me.

The left luggage "E" is not near a public gate.

If you have tickets you can use a dark blue gate. The light blue gates are not for public use. If you have no tickets you need to join The Queue and enter at the pink gate midway down the right side.

Or I may be entirely wrong.

Bring a waterproof.

For arrival at the ground the official advice is

At Wimbledon Station board the connecting London General shuttle bus service direct to the grounds. Buses depart about every five minutes.

All the details about the acceptable size of left luggage, and the details of The Queue (I was right) are at

I've gone to the Wimbledon tournament and there is no way they will allow you to bring multiple pieces of luggage into the grounds. Security is very tight. Henman Hill is very casual but very crowded and no one would appreciate your bags taking up space even if they would allow you to take it in.
I suggest you go with your more recent plan of stopping and dropping off your luggage at your friend's place.

the trip was an absolute success. the arrival for my short 1.5 day layover coincided precisely with the women's singles matches i wanted to see, which also happened to be a day in which there was no queue! i took the tube from heathrow to earl's court, switched to southfields, walked to wimbledon, placed my luggage in left luggage locker B, and enjoyed an entire day of beautiful weather and great tennis.

with advice from one of rick's radio shows, i spent the next half day visiting http://boroughmarket.org.uk/ and thoroughly enjoyed it.

keep on travelin' ;-)
