Lucky you. London celebrates the river with a Totally Thames festival the whole month. This year the theme is "Take me to the River". Lots of events, walks, etc. all connected with the river. Thanks. Will be in London Sept 8-15 before moving on to France. Need to catch up with a former student of mine who's wife passed away last January. We have a one day trip to Downton Abbey scheduled (at the insistence of she who shall not be denied) but not much else. Attending a couple of university lectures to hear what my European colleagues think of our up coming election. Looking forward to being gone from the US election for the month of September.

Frank--- do check the schedule for " what's on" while you are there. Everything from very educational history walks to art installations to special exhibits at museums to discounts on the river boats. And lots more.
