Wicked at Apollo Theatre in London

Has anyone seen Wicked at the Apollo Theater in London? If so, what seat in what section did you have, and were they satisfactory? Circle or Stalls? Do you recommend buying online in advance, or taking a chance and going to box office in person a day or two before the performance?

I have seen Wicked in London as well as several other musicals. I prefer the first row in the first balcony to give us a straight shot view at an elevated position. For the money, we think it is a great location, better than on the floor and risking having obstructed views with taller people sitting in front of us. Regarding buying in advance, we have done both. The popular ones like Wicked tend to not have as many tickets available at the half price booth. Also it depends on how many nights you have available to "roll the dice" on tickets being available. If you only have one night and only want to see Wicked, then I would suggest buying in advance.

I nearly always sit in the first balcony about 4 rows up. That way I can see the entire stage.

My favorite way to enjoy theatre.

Wicked is fun. Didn’t see it in London. Venerable Pantages in LA.

Enjoy!

We saw Wicked in London in 2014, in seats B18 and B19, having previously seen it three times at the Pantages in LA in diverse seats. We loved our seats, and I enjoy having the action right in front of me, as well as the different experience of seeing the entire stage all at once.

I bought tickets online in advance, as I am very choosy about seats, but I have no idea what the availability is like now. The purchase was a surprise for my traveling companion, but the performance was our first night there, so jet lag was catching up to her by the end of the evening.

There was one additional Brit-appropriate line in the UK performance versus LA, which we found amusing. Enjoy!

I agree with Charles that the front row in the first balcony is the best place to sit. We saw several plays last month when we were in London and for two of them that is where we sat. It was perfect.

I’ve seen Wicked and other musicals at the Apollo Victoria, but it has been years. For musicals, I generally prefer to sit in the Dress Circle to get a view over the whole stage, but I know that I have sat in the stalls in this theatre. It is a large theatre and the rake in the front part of the stalls is pretty shallow.

Take a look at the seating plan on theatremonkey:
http://www.theatremonkey.com/venues/apollo-victoria-theatre

Theatremonkey has a section for seating plans and a section for best seat advice that shows opinions on seats, legroom, etc.

If you really want to see this show, I’d suggest buying in advance to get the best choice of seats.

You can check the online ticket agency for Half Price Ticket Booth each day after midnight UK time to see if reduced priced tickets are ever released and buy them from this site. https://officiallondontheatre.com/show/wicked-73606/?month=07%2F23

If you don’t see a pattern of Wicked tickets available for a discount, I’d buy now directly from the box office for your preferred date in advance. https://www.wickedthemusical.co.uk/

We’ve seen it twice at the London Apollo and once at the LA Pantages, enjoy!

Sight lines for Wicked are pretty good all over - I've been to Wicked and a couple of things before it arrived some time ago.

There are some good view from my seat sites always worth checking for real photos by real people.

I always sit in the stalls, you can see the whole stage, the expressions on the actors face it’s fabulous. I never sit further then five rows back from the stage.
