Why Rochester is worth a visit...

Rochester rarely features on the tourist itinerary which is a shame. It is an easy day trip from London with a frequent train service. Forget the honey pot Canterbury which is always busy and try here for a change.

Lots of information and ideas here.

Rochester has an interesting history.

A rare sort of a place which is a city and then not a city due to a paperwork issue.

Jack Benny liked the place too.... he was always talking about Rochester.

Thanks for this , I'll be in London for two weeks this Autumn at the end of my trip , looks like a good day out , so does Tunbridge Wells.

I was very disappointed by Tunbridge Wells. Rochester has a lot more going for it!

Royal Tunbridge Wells has the Pantiles. Nobody else does.

True but the pantiles only takes about 30 minutes to see (unless you are into visiting all the shops!)
