Whitechapel Station to Hampton Court tomorrow

Hello London transport experts, I've plotted my route out a couple of times using the tfl trip planner and I've come up with different times and routes. A week ago, leaving on Monday morning, the route was overground to Clapham Junction and then SW trains to Hampton Court Rail Station taking about an hour. Now, that route no longer come up and instead I'm given a route involving overground to Canada Water/Jubilee to Waterloo Tube/SW trains to Hampton Court Rail taking 90 minutes.
I like the first option better and wonder why it isn't coming up. Can anyone advise me differently or better? Anyone staying up late on their bank holiday who can answer? Thanks so much!

TfL trip planner is programmed to give the fastest route, but there can sometimes be some random variations based on the time you pick. I would suggest Overground to Clapham Junction on the basis of fewest changes and least major changes of level.

On the journey planner, you can try changing the options. Click on "travel options and accessibility" and then you can indicate other preferences such as fewest changes.

Thanks so much, both of you. I've worked with the "options" button before but forgot to change the times. I'm awfully glad you could confirm the overground/train option, Philip. Especially since we have the overground advantage here at Whitechapel. Happy Bank Holiday all!
