White Cliffs of Dover or Seven Sisters Cliffs?

Hi everyone,

I am planning a day bus tour to the white cliffs of Dover in September with my parents that also goes to Canterbury. But now I am seeing that Seven Sisters is more impressive and have a more brightening white facade compared to Dover which is making me doubt my choices.

I tried looking for day tours to Seven Sisters but there seems to be limited availability to Seven Sisters and Brighton (unless I want to go with unknown private car hires off Rednote ads). Or the prices are a lot more expensive.

Have anyone been to both? Is Seven Sisters more majestic??

I've been to both, and can report that both are very majestic views. Honestly, I'd simply select the tour that suits you the best. Either way you will enjoy the view, the crashing ocean, the contrasting greenery, and yes, towering white cliffs. I went to the White Cliffs years ago, with the song playing in my head the whole time, and loved the immensity of it all. This last year we were in the Seven Sisters area, and that was my wow moment from our whole tour. You can't go wrong.

It's quite difficult to actually see the white cliffs from the land - you really need to get on the water and that's not very practical unless taking a ferry. Seven Sisters is a much more impressive site. Of course, whilst Dover itself has little interest the castle is impressive, But if what you want to see are white cliffs then Seven Sisters is the place to go.You can do it fairly easily by train and bus.

Seven Sisters wins hands down in my opinion. There are buses that run from Eastbourne out to Birling gap.

If you are just interested in cliffs, I think Seven Sisters is better. You can get there on your own on a train from Victoria station to Eastbourne. The Dover cliffs are nice as well but the main reason to go to Dover is the castle, particularly if you are interested in its wartime history with the tunnels.

Thanks everyone - I have to look up Seven Sisters and how to get there. Seems doable :)
