Which walking tour company?

Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to plan some walking tours in London. I know there is one that offers free tours that Uncle Rick often recommends, but I'm not sure which one it is?

Anyone care to let clue me is? Is it London Tours By Foot?

Thanks!

:) Gretchen

Not sure what RS books recommend, my daughter and I enjoyed London Walks. Not free but only £10 and we found it worthwhile.

London Walks isn't free, it's 10 GBP per walk, except for those requiring an entrance fee, such as the Tower of London or Westminster Abbey. However, they're an incredible company and I strongly recommend them. Their tours are so good, it is almost worthwhile just to turn up and enjoy the walk, regardless of the topic. If you're going to do more than one, ask for the discount card. It costs 2 GBP and it will give you a 2 GBP discount on each successive walk.

From the top of my head I've done these walks.
Beatles London
Rock and Roll London
London Rock and Roll pubs
Soho walking tour
Historic Westminster
Pubs along the Thames
Tower of London
Haunted London

I'm a solo traveler, occasionally meeting up with friends along the way. The walks give me temporary companionship as well as an interesting glimpse into London. They don't always stick to the topic, either. I remember that the Rock and Roll pubs tour included a stop at a house where Mozart lived when visiting London. That was also my most memorable London Walk as the guide brought along a guitar and played some classic rock music for our group at one of the pubs.

Of the number of London Walks I have done since 2013, most recent was a super enjoyable excursion to Bath. Another easy-peasy meet at train station and top-notch (also a Blue Badge) guide for a fabulously entertaining excursion. You pay a group rate train ticket in addition to the tour cost. As many thumbs up as possible.

Another London Walks fan here. I've taken many of their walks - and some day trips - over the last several years. Never been disappointed! I've just booked my trip to London, this October, and have already pencilled in a couple of LW daytrips in my schedule.

Another vote for London Walks. Done a lot of their 2 hour walks in London over the last few years, also some of their day trips. A recent favourite is the Street Art Walk - just surprising, guide pointing out things you just aren't aware of. Have pencilled in a few to do from their latest schedule, if I have time - there's a tour running 4x this summer Inside London, going inside Wren's churches, which looks great, a foodie walk I haven't done etc.
