Background: Our first trip to England; we'll be there 7-12 days; planning on doing mostly London with maybe a few days spent elsewhere. Of the 2 books which do you recommend?

monica, if you're looking at the guidebook descriptions on this site (under Shop Online, Guidebooks) pick one of those two you're considering and you'll see a drop down box for "Is This the Right Book for Me?" which gives you that comparison.

I agree get the London book by RS and also another guidebook for London. I like Eyewitness.
Are you going anywhere else in the UK or just day trips from London?

Get the London book from your library if your visit is mostly in London.
