Which part of UK that's nearest to London looks the same as Ireland's Landscape?

I asked a question in another forum regarding Dublin-London or Dublin-Paris, and with the number of days we have it seems getting clearer to us that it's probably going to be better to just stay around London, then to Paris.

I would like to ask though what's the nearest place to London that we can go to that resembles Ireland's Landscape? We foind out about Snowdonia, but it's 5hrs away. Is there any that's just an hour or two away?

Thanks!

When you say "resembles Ireland's landscape," do you mean the topography, or the flora and fauna, or the village architecture? Or all of these? And what part of Ireland are you thinking of? Just like the island of Great Britain, the island of Ireland/Eire has different features in different areas.

Since you mentioned Snowdonia, which is a mountainous area, you might find the Peak District National Park an acceptable alternative. You can get there by train in a little over 3 hours from London. See https://www.rome2rio.com/map/London/Peak-District

If you'd be happy with countryside without necessarily including mountains, you could take the train to Salisbury and from there the shuttle bus to Old Sarum and Stonehenge. At both Old Sarum and Stonehenge there are options for walking in open country.

We did a 28 day drive tour of Wales and England. Also, we have been to Ireland a couple of times.

Not sure what you are looking far in comparison, since the area around Dublin is much like what you see in most of England. Of course the Ring of Kerry is special and you would need to go to Cornwall, Wales or Scotland for that.

I recommend you check out the Cotswolds, start with Bath and move north to Chipping Campden.

South Wales is great, we loved Tenby and St. Davids.
Here is my story of our great trip with details on hotels and touring.

Sorry about the confusion. I know the meaning of what a landscape is could be different for each person when it comes to traveling, but I guess what I mean by it is that "countryside" feeling with the Game of Thrones kind of locations + Giants Causeway. If there is nothing within 1-2 hours, it's ok. I just thought that maybe, who knows! We just decided that as much as it would be great to "pack" all these different kinds of attractions (architecture, history, natural landscapes, etc) in just 8 days (yes, I actually overlooked that we arrive on the next day!), we're better off enjoying / savoring more what is in London and Paris rather than spending more than 6 hours of travel. We could always go back if time and money permit us to! :)

Thanks so much for all your inputs!
