Which fare to buy for train ticket from London Paddington to Bath

I'm on the GWR website, trying to figure out which ticket to buy to go from London Paddington to Bath Spa on July 13. I'm reluctant to buy the Advance Single ticket, in case my flight into London that day is delayed, and I'd rather not pay for the Any Day ticket. My question really is about the Super Off-Peak Single and the Off-Peak Single. I'm having trouble figuring out if those fares are applicable for the date (Sat., July 13) and time (after 16:00) I want to travel. Any advice?

No time restriction on the Super Off-Peak Single on Saturdays.

How are you planning to get to Paddington from where your flight arrives?

Is there a reason you don't want to take the coach from LHR to Bath? No need to buy that ticket in advance.

Edit- Oops, maybe you are flying into a different airport?

Try this site and see if it makes things clearer:>https://www.traintickets.com/?/

From = Heathrow to Bath. It will show you a way of taking an Elizabeth Line Train to Hayes & Harlington (first stop & just a few minutes out fo the airport). Here you change for a westbound stopping train to Reading where you change again for an Inter City Express to Bath. This is usually MUCH cheaper than going via London Paddington from Heathrow,

Are you returning to London? If so, it might work out cheaper to buy a one way ticket from Heathrow to Reading (if using the Hayes & Harlington option) & then a return from Reading to Bath. (The cost of this will depend on the timings of your return with cheaper fares outside the morning & evening peaks on weekdays). You would also need to purchase a one way ticket from Reading to Paddington to complete such a journey.

Here is another site that may make things clearer:> https://www.thetrainline.com
PS. The above sites usually come up with a split to get the price down but charge a small commission.

https://www.gwr.com is the official train company site for this route - but I don’t think it is the most user friendly.

Thanks for all the replies.

To answer a couple of questions, I'm flying into London Stansted (Ryanair) and taking the Stansted Express to Liverpool Street Station. I discovered after I posted my question that I can buy one ticket that covers the Underground from there to Paddington and then the GWR to Bath.

Yes, you can but a through ticket from Stansted which includes crossing London.

I see that you were in Braga, Portugal. Did you know that you could have flown with Easyjet from Porto to Bristol on Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays? Bristol Airport has frequent cheap buses that would have taken you the short journey to Bath. That would have been much better than landing in the east of England.

None of the travel days into Bristol with either EasyJet or Ryanair worked for me. In addition to that, when I bought the ticket, I wasn't sure if I was going to spend the night in London or go straight to Bath. I researched all the options, and I picked the one that worked best for me. I need to be in Bath on July 14 for the Rick Steves England tour, and for various reasons, I couldn't leave before Saturday.
