We (2 adults 1 teen) will be in London mid July for 5 nights. Looking to rent an apartment. What areas are good to rent in or alternatively what areas to avoid? We would like a place that is well connected via subway and safe to navigate day or late evening/night. Thanks!
My favored areas of London are all close-in to the city. To me, it makes no sense staying further out given the increased time commuting to sightseeing venues. That being said, I really like the area around Earl's Court/Gloucester Rd tube stations (postal code SW7). I also like the area between Paddington Station and Hyde Park if for convenience along...
Good luck and have a great trip.
Look in these areas which form a broad arc.
Pimlico
Kensington
Bayswater
Notting Hill
Paddington
St Johns Wood
Make sure you are close to a Tube station.
I don't know whether there are many apartments available there, but I have had good luck with Pimlico/Belgravia area as a base—right near Victoria Station.
