I've been to Heathrow 22 times, but only to london for 6 hours. This is my first trip to actually see things....
I'm wondering, where is the most central place to stay? I really like neighborhoods.

We find it very convenient to stay in the Victoria Station area and walk to a lot of the areas or grab the tube at VS.
I prefer the Nottinghill/Bayswater/Paddington area. After a 10 hour flight I don’t dawdle and use the 15 minute Heathrow Express to Paddington. Traveled enough times to London to know to purchase advance tix to save money.
The fact that those neighborhoods are near Hyde Park is a huge plus for me. Love walking in and around Hyde Park. Plentiful Tube stations, good food options, coffee shops.
Close to my favorite street market, Portobello.
I completely with Claudia, I love the areas she mentioned. You gave you great information.
We always stay near the Gloucester tube stop in South Kensington. Easy access from the Piccadilly line.
