We arrive at LHR around 4p.m. on July 21 (from Florence, Italy) and need to get to Falmouth sometime the next day. This means we need to find a place to stay the night of July 21. Does anyone have suggestions on where to stay that night?

Leaving Heathrow you would take M3 to A303. Amesbury is a 5 minute drive from A303. Amesbury is a 1 hr and 20 minutes drive from Heathrow. The next day you would have a 3hr 30min drive to Falmouth.

I presume you are renting a car at Heathrow? (A sleeping car train called ‘The Night Riviera’ goes from Paddington to Cornwall and Truro would be the place to get off for Falmouth). A local train runs back and for between Truro & Falmouth.
Presumably, you are using the M3 > A303 route to Exeter rather than the northerly M4/ M5 route? If using the former, consider booking a Premier Inn at Fleet, Basingtoke or Amesbury.
