Where to stay?

We are heading to England in January - (See our post on itinerary suggestions for January! LOL) I am looking for suggestions on places to stay. Quaint, not break the bank type places. We will be taking the train. Perhaps Air BNB's or VRBO? Open is ideas

Bath - Jan 5,6 and check out the 7th. We will spend the day in the area on the 7th then head to Oxford

Oxford - Jan 7 , 8, check out 9th (Maybe head to Cambridge for a night? )

Strafford upon Avon - Jan 10th.

Back to London on the 11th, 12, 13

Windsor Jan 14th

Head back to US on the 15th

If you want “quaint, it break the bank” places, I suggest you look at traditional English Bed and Breakfasts. These are licensed establishments that offer nice rooms with private bathrooms in a homey comfortable atmosphere, with a nice breakfast cooked to order by the hosts. You may or may not meet other guests at breakfast or in the common living room area.

Very different from an “AirBnB”, which is usually a private apartment or flat where you are on your own and never meet the hosts.

You can filter for Bead and Breakfasts on booking.com or a Google search with that term. Either way, many will have their own website so you can contact them directly.

We have had great experiences in these laces in England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland..
