Over the years we've been able to take both the RS England tours. We'd like to go back to England next summer and although there are some locations we'd like to see again (London & York especially) I was wondering if people had suggestions of other locations to visit, and guidebooks that cover those destinations?
Simple answer, Scotland.
If not limited to the UK I’d suggest Turkey, Bulgaria or Norway.
It really depends upon where you have already been, how you intend to travel and how long it takes to get to the places you wish to visit.
You could start by taking a look at these official government funded sites:>

Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Lake District, Peak District, Channel Islands, Liverpool, Manchester, Chester, Bristol, Oxford, Cambridge,
And that's just the UK or areas associated with the crown.
Plenty of information on these areas online. I like the Rough Guide series of guidebooks.
After I took the Rick Scotland tour I took a train to York, then London. I suggest Scotland. My train connections were easy and I saw a lot of countryside along the way. I loved the Scotland tour and really thought I got a good overview of the different regional areas.
Check out Rabbies for great short and inexpensive tours.
If you haven't taken the RS Scotland tour I would recommend it. Scotland was beautiful and one of my favorite tours for that reason.
