Where to buy drawings/paintings on the street - London, England

Hi Everyone:
Would anyone know where I could buy drawings/paints by artists on the street - an area where they gather to paint? I remember seeing many artists outside in the Sacred Coeur area in Paris, France. Is there a similar area in London?

Thanks for your assistance

Not really the same practice in London although have seen painters with easels near Kensington Palace. Believe it was a class.

That would be interesting to know. It does tend to be damp in London, so it may be less likely to have a standing event outside for painters. I did buy a bunch of antique engravings in the Street Markets. You might find some plein air artists in the Parks on a nice day.

Hello Everyone:

Thanks for the replies. I did some more searching and found this information. They called Bayswater Road Artists. The website states:

For over sixty years, Bayswater Road in London W2 has been transformed every Sunday into the world's liveliest open-air art exhibition ... THE EXHIBITION IS CURRENTLY ONLY BETWEEN THE LANCASTER GATE ENTRANCE TO KENSINGTON GARDENS, AND THE MARLBOROUGH GATE ENTRANCE. There is currently no art displayed between Queensway and Lancaster Gate. The website is: www.bayswater-road-artists.co.uk

I hope this may help someone,

Oh, thanks for the info about Bayswater Artists.

About a million years ago, in 1977 when I was a child, I remember being in the car as my dad drove into London from the west on a Sunday morning. I have such a vivid memory of seeing all these paintings on the street, hanging on park railings for quite a long stretch. I remember it being somewhere around Hyde Park - and I think you’ve just clarified that memory for me!
