Where to buy a Sleep Mask in London

I need to get a decent sleep mask. I've been using one I got on the plane but I wake up with very dry eyes.

I'm in London. I have checked--online:

Boots

Superdrug

M & S

John Lewis

House of Fraser

Debenhams

Argos

Sainsburys

Tesco

Any ideas?

I've seen Mountain Warehouse sell them. Surprised Boots didn't stock any. Amazon seems to be your best bet if you can get it delivered to where you're staying?

There's always Ann Summers however!

If anybody has one, it may well be John Bell and Croyden http://johnbellcroyden.co.uk/ in Wigmore Street just east of Marylebone Street on the corner of Wellbeck Street.

They are really nice folks and have a comprehensive selection. Not the cheapest place around but great and good value.

Don't be put off by their barely existent webpage. Give them a call and save a walk, or just go for the ambience.

If you go this evening be aware that the Regent Street lights are being switched on tonight so it may be a little busy near there - you are only 4 streets from Regent Street.

How are you doing these days, burnout-wise?

Thanks to all. I remember Flying Tiger has some. If not, it may just be Amazon.

Be careful in Tiger, you go in for one thing you come out with 27! Ps there chocolate and crisps are quite good and I swear by their pens.....

Tell me about it......I don't shop but can't seem to pass up one wherever I am. I've lost count of how many countries I've gone in to one to browse.. There is even one in the Faroe Islands.

I’ve seen some festive inspired gel type ones in Primark recently. One of those may do for you.

Also surprised by Boots. They are all over London, Heathrow too. Try John Bell & Croydon in London. It’s a wonderful experience going there, clerks in dress suits. We were able to find travel supplies there last year.

I'm pretty sure I saw sleep masks in Boots (on the Strand) on a rack that had plug adapters and a few other travel accessories. Otherwise, there are a couple of stores on Oxford St. (one was on the south side of the street near Oxford Circus underground) that sell luggage, so maybe they would have them.

I just looked at Boots.com, they have several sleeping masks. I would be really surprised if they didn’t have them in the store.

So where did you go and what did you get, Frank II?

I haven't gone yet. Perhaps this weekend. Although since the lights were lit I have a feeling Oxford Street will be crowded over the weekend and I have to go to Bond Street to get to Marylebone. Perhaps Monday.

Boots has sleep masks but the type I want is not available near me. If I just wanted any old sleep mask my hotel gives them away.

I want a pair with raised eye pockets and made of either silk or soft foam.

I'm in Earls Court. The reason I was going to Bond Street was for John Bell & Croyden.

Good choice.

Hope you get a good rest.

I agree with emma about Marylebone High Street.

It has a distinction of being one of the very few streets which winds along rather than a straight line.

My favourite Breton crêperie was there before one day it wasn't. I was sad.

I miss those fabulous galettes. Moral of the story - when you find something enjoy the moment.

Emma...the walk was what I planned but in the opposite direction. I want to also stop in at Daunt Books.

Nigel

I miss that creperie too, but have you tried Mamie's in Catherine Street near Aldwych? Presentation is a bit hipster but the crepes are really good.

Oooh. Philip, you tempt me. Maybe Tuesday - I have to be in London for a taping. I'll see if my wife wants to give it a go.....

Try walking into any TK Maxx in London. I know the kind of foam sleep mask you are looking for because I have more than half a dozen of them in all sorts of prints and colors because I inevitably forget to pack one from home. I can't use those cheap ones they give out on the plane - the fabric is rough and it presses up against my eyelids. Virtually every sleep mask I own has come from TJ Maxx because they almost always have some sort of travel accessories area and sleep masks are typically kept there.
