After flying for many hours from Seattle to London, we don't want to drive in our rental car very far the first day. Am thinking of staying overnight in Windsor but not sure where. Can you recommend a place? We will have our rental car with us and will need parking. We are two older women with creaky knees but can still manage stairs. Ground floor or place with elevator would be better, though.

We stayed at Alma Lodge B&B when we were there in 2005. It worked just fine for what we needed but could have had some updated furnishings. Our room was on the ground floor. There was free parking. From it we were able to easily walk to the town center and the castle.

We stayed at 76 Duke St B&B last year. The rooms are on the 2nd floor (or first floor per European terms) but it was a lovely place to stay. There’s permit street parking for your car.

I stayed at Rainworth House a lovely B&B in Windsor, the owner Doreen makes a lovely Full English Breakfast and is very hospitable. I highly recommend!

Alma House B&B, it’s a five minute walk to the town center and Windsor Castle.
