And on your earlier boat question, I did take a lovely ride from London along back waterways by Eton and Runnymeade(?) about 20 years ago -- but it took several hours, then 45 minutes to get back by train.

Carolyn, you need to learn to use the National Rail planner website. It will in readers your confidence in using trains, and you won't have to keep asking questions like this one.

To go from London to Windsor without knowing what station to start from, just type in "London" and then choose "all stations". Then put in Windsor, and it will offer Windsor & Eton Contral, or Windsor & Eton Riverside. Work through both options. If you put in W&E Central, it will show options originating at Paddington, with one change on the way. Click on "details" and you will see that the one change is at Slough.

If you input W&E Riverside, it will show you options from Waterloo station, with no changes.

Look at the prices and times and pick the one you want.

Leave from Paddington Station to Windsor & Eton Central, it’s a 35 minute, change at Slough (just change platforms). It’s a 35 minute train ride. As you exit the train, turn left walk up to the street, the castle is right there across the street.

Or as it said in your prior question you can also go via Waterloo or Vauxhall.
