What is the easiest way to get to Bath from Heathrow, in May?

I will be arriving at Heathrow after a 9 hour flight, and would like advice on the easiest way to travel to Bath. I hear there is a bus right from the airport - is that the simple way? Is it easy to buy tickets? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

You can get a National Express coach from the LHR T2&3 station direct to Bath. You can buy a ticket in advance. Or wait and buy online as soon as you arrive at LHR and can be more certain of which bus you will need. Or you can buy from a ticket machine at the bus station. I believe you can even buy from the driver with exact cash.

Or you can get a train which will require at least one change.

The easiest way would be a private transfer. The driver meets you as you exit customs and drives you to your destination.

Otherwise your choices are bus and train as mentioned in the previous post.

There are long intervals of 3 to 4 hours in between direct buses to Bath (a lot of others go to Bristol with a change there onto a citybus back to Bath). So unless your arrival time coincides with a direct bus departure then train is often the preferred route.

The easiest way is a private car service. Yes, it will cost a bit, but after a 9 hour flight, being sleepy, jet lagged, and on unfamilar turf, nothing is better than having a driver meet you and wisk you to the hotel.

We used a private car service based in Bath to go from there to the Bristol airport and were very pleased. I don't remember the cost (and it's closer than Heathrow) but it was reasonable. The service we used was Chauffeur Travel, and the web site is https://chauffeurtravel.co.uk/

Check it out and see if it will work for you.

Thanks so much - TC I'm going to check into the service you suggested.
