what is going on with EasyJet flights?

As I unwind my July European summer plans, the only thing left to figure out is my Easyjet flight from Stanstead to Munich on July 17th. I received an email about 10 days ago offering a voucher and a £10.00 bonus but only to be used from the date of the ticket issue (January 2021) which is no good to me. I have been holding out to see if they cancel the flight. Looking at the website a week ago the flight said "Sold out" apparently they use this as a place holder when they don't know if the flight will be on. Today, I see that flights from Stansted to Munich are only offered from August on. We are 22 days out. Do I wait, call? I have three tickets worth about $280. Not a great amount but would like to get it back if possible and use the money for a 2021 trip.

I'm still waiting for the promised refund from mid-April canceled flights. Since the total is only $98, it's not a real disaster to wait for it. Wonder if I'll ever receive it?
Stay safe and healthy!

Easyjet are cancelling flight 7-8 days before they are due, wait till they are cancelled and they apply online using links from their website. I had flight cancelled in the middle of last month and am still awaiting a refund and that could take up to 90 days.

I figured Easyjet would handle things a little differently. Good to know about the 90 day wait for a refund if canceled. I will wait and check on my booking as its gets a little closer to the time.

You may or may not be aware that the UK Government has started to row back on its quarantine plans a little with. a traffic light system of countries where arrivals from will not need to quarantine. As a result there has been a surge in bookings for holidays from Brits desperate to get abroad and as Germany is a Green for now it may well be that there is enough demand for Easyjet to run the flight.

I had 2 flights on Easyjet for the beginning of May. Easyjet cancelled the flights so I applied for refunds in mid April when the flights were cancelled. I was informed it would take up to 90 days to get the refund so I waited. The refunds arrived 2 months later. Hang in there and wait for the flight to cancel so you can get a refund.

I understand today, Easyjet is laying off 1,900 UK jobs and pulling out of Stansted, Southend, and Newcastle. This is really sad news. Easyjet was one of the better budget airlines. As of today, my flight is now canceled. Looks like they are trying very hard to offer vouchers at this point instead of refunds.

Good news on the refund. I submitted 6/30, receiving a couple of emails updating me on the progress of my refund, and received funds credited to my account on 07/29. I was quite impressed with the way in which this was handled by the company. Of course, I got my desired outcome, but I appreciated the updated emails along the way.

Pat, have you had any updating emails? I got several. If not, then maybe your refund did not go through. You should have had a refund by now.

No, I never received any updating emails.
I just submitted a new request for refund, as the original request was over 90 days ago. There didn't seem to be a mode to contact Customer Service directly via email, I just had to use the Refund Request mode.
Any other tips? Thanks so much!

This was my first email after I had submitted the request.
"Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting us and for submitting a refund request.
We are working hard to process your request as quickly as possible. Due to the exceptionally high volumes currently being processed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, we will try our best to complete your request within 28 days following submission. Please do not contact us regarding a previous request unless it has been more than 90 days since you made your original submission."
"Thank you again for your patience and understanding."

I received another email about 20 days later stating that my refund was on its way within 30 days. Then another email about 5 days later stating it was on its way refunded to the original form of purchase. I assume your booked directly with Easyjet. If not and you used a third party then you will need to contact that company.

I just heard from EasyJet that my September 15th flight from London to Inverness was pushed from an 8:30PM departure to a 12:40PM departure, almost 8 hours earlier. Does anyone know what EasyJet's and/or the UK's rules are if a flight is rescheduled to an EARLIER time? The only information I can find is in regards to flights that are delayed.

I'm really hoping to get a refund rather than a voucher or rescheduling the flight, as our entire trip was cancelled, and we don't know when we will be able to go.

Laurie,

I Just don't know what Easyjet's policy is on re-scheduled flights on the same day. Did you receive an email notifying you of the change? if so, did it indicate what you could do if that flight did not fit your schedule? I had to look long and hard at the website to find the Refund option. On one page, it states "is this flight within 14 days" I said "yes" when it was in fact about 25 days out. I then Skipped through all the extra offerings, (vouchers, free sandwiches, etc) and finally got to the refund button. Maybe if you post this as a new question on the forum someone more familiar with Easyjet policies will respond.
Good Luck.

I just saw my Oct visa statement , and I did finally receive my EasyJet refund from our canceled April flight. I did have to initiate the request a second time, and then the process seemed to move relatively quickly.

Hopes for future- safe and healthy - travels!
