Which companies offer cars in London Heathrow terminal 5 without having to take a shuttle? For those who have taken the shuttle, does it take significant time?

Clarity please. Heathrow is similar to many airports world wide. Rental car facilities are a shuttle or bus ride away. Who are you renting from?
If I remember correctly when I landed at Terminal 3 after an overnight from LAX ( don’t chastise. I slept on the plane) I walkrd outside and boarded a bus to the Hertz facility on the Perimeter road. I don’t believe the ride was longer than 10 minutes. Went through a tunnel.
I think from Terminal 5 the ride is about 20-25 minutes.
Think time of journey from airport to rental agency depends on which company you rent from.

Sure. I’m arriving at Terminal 5 and it is my understanding, but I could well be wrong, that a few car hire services operate directly from the terminal while others require a shuttle service. Before reserving a car for my trip, I’m trying to ascertain whether some companies have a location advantage over others. I may select one company over another on that basis.

There is a rental car company that is a short walk down a hallway from terminal 5 in the upper lobby of the Soffitel hotel. It is the Sixt rental car agency. When you enter arrivals hall after passport control simply follow the signs for the Soffitel Hotel. I have no personal experience with this company, but I have passed this rental car desk several times.
