Hub by Premier Inn is a pod-type hotel. I love it for myself when I’m traveling solo (it allows me to stay in more central locations for a lot less money), but no way I could stay in that small space with my husband or a friend. I would imagine the price would be a lot less than the other hotels you're looking at, which would be your first clue.

I don't know anything about any of the other hotels, have you read a good assortment of reviews on TripAdvisor to give you an idea?

We will be staying in that area next week. I made reservations at the Sanctuary House Hotel just because I liked how it looked when I passed it before!! The location is also great and there is a Fullers pub on the ground floor.

There is also a restaurant close by on the Thames. It's called the Tattersail Castle and is an old boat tied to the dock. It is just across from the Eye. We haven't been there for 4 years BUT it's still there and are hoping it was as good as we remember!!

I stayed at hub by Premier-St James Park and really liked it a lot. So much so that I'll be staying there again in October. The rooms are very comfortable and well thought out (though small). Location was great for the tube and walking to places. No complaints about the place really.

I have also stayed at the Hub by Premier Westminster Abbey. Loved it. But agree that while it was perfect for solo traveler, for a couple it would be 'tight'. I actually would still probably do it since the hotel is so nice and the price so good. But if traveling with a friend then no way. However, the price for two single rooms is still less than a lot of more expensive hotels are for a double with two beds. The rooms in the Hub are very well designed (so more space to lay things out than the size of the room would indicate) and the bed very comfy - but one person is going to be on the 'inside' and so would have to crawl over the other person if they needed to get up in the middle of the night.

Both Hub and Z Hotels are pod type. I love them as a solo traveler, but you’d have to think about it with a spouse/bf/gf.
