Westminster Abbey adult/child ticket question

Hi! My family and I will be travelling to London this summer and I want to book tickets to Westminster Abbey. My youngest child is 17 years old so I believe that he is eligible for the child discount rate at the abbey; however, I am confused as to which selections to make on the abbey's website. The adult price is 31 pounds, the one adult + one child price is 31 pounds, and the child price (6-17 years old) is 14 pounds. Has anyone taken advantage of the family discount? Is one child essentially free with an adult or should I book a child pass for him? I'm guessing my 17 year-old is free with entry with me but I just want to double-check with someone who may have used this discount in the past. Thanks!

I bought my adult plus child ticket and was emailed tickets for both of us.

Assuming you and your child will enter the Abbey together, you would select 1 ticket for "1 adult + 1 child 6-17 years" for £31. Then, if you want to add on the Queen's Jubilee Galleries, you would select 1 Galleries adult for £5 and 1 Galleries child 6-17 for £0.

If there are 2 adults plus the 17 year old, then purchase 1 adult ticket for £31 and 1 adult + 1 child ticket for £31.
