We had pre purchased our tickets to visit Westminster Abbey with also the hopes of booking a Verger tour when we arrived at the opening time. I got an email that said due to a special event that day, now the opening hours of the abbey have been amended to 1:30 to 3:30. Fortunately, we had nothing else planned this day so we are still able to visit at that time. Closing time is 4:30pm It's not 100% clear from the email whether there will still be Verger tours.
Is 3 hours enough time to visit the abbey and do the Verger tour and the Queens gallery (which I had also purchased tickets for)?
Tammy, you could conceivably see everything in the Abbey in 3 hours, I think. I spent 2-3 hours on my first visit there, but I also went back for Evensong another evening and looked around some more.
With regards to the Verger tours, you might want to email them and ask them to clarify that. Here's their contact info: https://www.westminster-abbey.org/about-the-abbey/contact-us
Yes. 3 hours is enough time.
