We will be traveling to the Bradford/Thornton area of West Yorshire in May. We are visiting relatives that are housebound. We would like to stay nearby so we can spend time with them often. We are looking for a self-catering cottage so we have more than just a couple bedrooms to relax in. We also chose May so we can see lots of newborn lambs romping in th dales. I have not found accommodations to suit our needs yet. Any and all recommendations appreciated.
Might be a bit too far from Bradford/Thorton, but Layhead Farm near Settle and Rathmell has just what you described http://www.layhead.co.uk/
Thank you, a bit further than Ideal but I will look into it.
You don't say how long you are staying. Most cottage rentals will be for a minimum of 7 days. Bradford is a large industrial city which is unlikely to yield many cottages. Halifax may be suitable, but it depends on how close to Thornton you want to be.
Try booking.com, farmstays.co.uk or sawdays.co.uk.
Your relatives may know of properties advertised locally which may suit better.
Thanks everyone, great information. We will have a car so that will aid in our flexibility.
We stayed at a National Trust cottage not too far from Bradford a few years ago. It is in an extremely beautiful location and might suit your needs assuming you are a couple as the property would only accommodate two people.

Thanks David, this looks lovely. We are a party of 3 needing two bedrooms so I will keep it in. Kind for future trips.
I am curious, we stayed at Hollings Mill outside Haworth in years past but I understand that the owner passed away and the mill is no longer available. I searched the net and tried to contact them without success. Am I fight that it is no longer available?
