West End hotel in London?

Hello fellow travelers,
We will be staying in London a night to see theatre in September and are wondering if you can recommend a reasonably priced hotel in the West End close to the theatre district? By "reasonably priced," I mean 150 to 250 GBP.

Thank you!

theatres are spread all over - which play/theatre are you going to?

Prince Edward Theatre, Old Compton Street. We are two travelers, retired. Other recommended Premier Inn, London Leicester Square, it looks affordable by comparison (~$200 vs. $400). Any thoughts?

Thank you for your reply, Nigel.

Premier Inn are reliable bets, but Leicester Square is busy.

Many member on this site are fans of Premier Inns which are everywhere in London. (best locations)

I like to do research using booking.com. Sometimes I book through them or go directly to the hotel site.

Since you are just staying one night, you probably can not go wrong wherever you choose to book.

Take a look at the Radisson Blu Edwardian in Bloomsbury. I picked a random night in September and they have rooms in your price range. It’s a hotel I’ve walked by for years and always wanted to stay in but our trips to London are usually for a longer duration and we’ve chosen a more affordable hotel like the Bedford Hotel where we stayed for 7 nights last summer, also in your price range.

Thank you, all, for your suggestions. I booked the Radisson Blu Edwardian Kenilworth for 268 GBP per night for 2 nights. It is close enough to walk to the Prince Edward Theatre for our Sunday matinee and close enough to the tube to get to either Euston or Kings Cross train station for our trip to Scotland on Monday.

Appreciate your help!
Paulette

Beware that Leicester Square gets really, really busy on weekends. As in Times Square on NYE, times four.
