What kind of weather can we expect in very early March? Traveling with two kids.
Snow, fog, hail, wind, frost, sunshine, rain, clouds. Sometimes all in the same morning,
If you are looking for averages, 11C max, 3C min. 33% of rain on any one day. Bit under 4 hours sun. 5 nights of frost.
Sounds where were from in Nebraska! Is it typically freezing temperatures that time of year?
Nobody knows, I'm afraid.
We are currently in the warmest December on record, and very windy with rain (plenty of rain in northern England), and it has been like this all winter.
It could stay that way for the rest of the winter. Many of the bulbs are already up and I'd hate to kill them.
Or we could get a freeze up next week that will last all year. Truly, nobody knows.
But then there are so many things to do indoors in London that the weather can be quite irrelevant
Regarding your follow up - I've never heard anybody compare London weather to Nebraska. It is much much nicer here.
Regarding freezing - the temperatures given by Marco are all positive numbers so are above freezing. Celsius is so much easier than Fahrenheit. 11C max, is 52F, 3C min is 37F..
The odds are that early March weather in the Uk will be quite a bit better than Nebraska. Check out this site for averages (you need click 'Averages Maps' > http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/climate/
March is also the driest month - on average. This is a good site to use prior to departure to see what to expect:> http://www.weather-forecast.com/locations/London/forecasts/latest
Looking at rainfall averages across the year in southern England is a bit deceptive in that in the winter the rain tends to be frontal and evenly spread whereas in the summer it tends to come from thunderstorms and is more concentrated.
London is not a particularly wet place.
