Impressions and thoughts?
No but I watched some Sky News film on YouTube. They had a beautiful day for it.

And oh golly there are TWO B-day celebrations this weekend. Let's see...
UK's Sovereign's Birthday Parade/Trooping of Color: A dignified, tightly regimented ceremonial parade with mounted Calvary, foot brigades, military bands, pipers, drum corps, gun salutes fly-over, etc: 'thing' for, oh, a few hundred years.
Another birthday 'event' tomorrow in Washington DC: sweaty, half-naked wanna-be gladiators having a bloody brawl on the White House lawn. No lions to eat the losers though. That would be tacky.
Right-o.
Watched from afar Nigel. I will just will watch all the classy national celebrations from other countries for the next two years. Kate, 80% chance of severe weather. Lightning and strong winds. ๐ค
LOL, Mustlovedogs. โ๏ธโก๏ธ๐
I saw the flypast from my back garden. All the planes were at their final approach altitude and flew east to west about a mile south of me. The Red Arrows already had their smoke on for flying over Hackney!
I did not, but we did happen upon the rehearsal last weekend when exiting the Mall Galleries (free exhibition on award-winning food photography, which was very fun but I think has already left now). A tip for people who may not know, but they do a full rehearsal one week before, which seems like it is basically exactly the same as the real one but without any of the royals present. So if that's less important to you, or you are only in town the week before, you can see basically the same thing but with many fewer crowds.
I watched Emma Radacanu's match at Queen's. Red Arrows disrupted play. :-)
well of course Hackney deserves the full treatment!
I could only watch from afar as well, sadly. You have to hand it to the Brits. No one does tradition and ceremony like you do. It was wonderful to watch. And I have to salute the Princess Royal. Who else could display such excellent horsemanship at her age. Its not easy to be completely relaxed in the saddle while also sitting at attention.
Im guessing that it was a mild day, since I didn't see a single face plant among the ranks.
it was a lovely day.
It'll be hot next weekend though

Indeed.
