I had thought to take a walking tour with Cotswolds walks. We are not planning our trip till next spring. Is there anyone who has experience with a walking tour company in another part of England? Considering, the north?, Cornwall?, Wales? Shropshire?or?
I am a histroy buff and love gardens, not interested in seeing the normal sites.
Thanks
Country Walkers, based in Vermont, offers several tours in both England and Scotland, as well as elsewhere in Europe and other parts of the world. I have never taken a tour with Country Walkers, but have done about a dozen tours with VBT, (aka: Vermont Bicycling Tours) cycling tours. I have always been very pleased with VBT. Excellent guides, lovely lodging, great itineraries. I have found VBT to have always delivered what they promise. Airfare included, from both major hubs like NYC, but also smaller regional airports. Country Walkers is a part of VBT. So I would presume their standards would match those of VBT.
I am not sure of Country Walkers website, but I easily reached it via VBT’s site, vbt.com. A direct link from VBT to CW.
HF Holidays has been mentioned a few times recently.

Ten years ago we used Cotswolds Walks for a nice circular walk to/from Bath. We have also used Contours for walking the West Highland Way in Scotland, and will be using them this fall for a walk in Wales, and another walk in the Peak District of England. Both companies offer excellent service, very good accommodations (as allowed by the small towns in which you may be staying), and we believe the price is very reasonable.
