Has anyone made this walk before? I'll be going to bath on a bus tour from London and wondered what type of walk this is and about how long the journey on foot takes.
Mike in VT, according to the National Trust, to get to Prior Park with the bridge and great views, go "1 mile uphill (very steep) walk from rear of railway station: cross river, pass Widcombe shopping parade, turn right onto Prior Park Road at White Hart pub, proceed uphill, garden on left. Kennet & Avon Canal path ¾ mile" The TA reviews say the park and views are well worth the trek. There is also a public bus. Go to: http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/prior-park/how-to-get-here Entry to the park is several pounds, unless you are a National Trust member. The bridge looks amazing, it does not appear you can get to it or close, without being in the park, but maybe someone else has been there and has better information.
Gosh, nothing to add but thanks Larry for the link and picture. It looks gorgeous! Bookmarked to consider for next trip to Bath.
