My husband and I are seniors and are looking for a short but suddenly beautiful walk on the coldswalds Way. perhaps an hour and a half at most round trip. We appreciate any suggestions. thank you, Linda
The Cotswolds Way is a point to point long distance trail, so is not really geared up for what you are asking. It also takes many hours on small roads to traverse from one end to the other.
However, all of England, including the Cotswolds, is criss crossed by public footpaths, where anyone can walk over private land, and these can be combined to make circular walks.
If you can share where you are staying, it will be fairly easy to find a circular walk that someone has documented and shared
There’s a nice walk from Stow on the Wold to Lower Slaughter then ending in Bourton on the Water, where we took a bus back to our origination point. It might be a bit longer than what you asked for but it was gentle downhill
and easy. If you google it, a lot of descriptions will come up from various walking websites. It’s also described in the Rick Steves England book, if you have that.
I recommend the AllTrails app. People map walks that they’ve done and you can follow the route. The free to use version works fine for me.
I have done this trail and it is nice and shouldn’t be too long. Hills are gentle. It is a circular route from Burton on the water to Lower Slaughter. It is beautiful with some countryside and cute villages. A break in Slaughter is possible
You don't say where you want to walk to start from, so have a look at this website which had loads of ideas for short walks based on the Cotswolds Way. There are details for each walk along with a map.
thank you everyone who took the time to reply. I really appreciate your time. We are staying in chipping Campton for four full days, but we will have a car so are willing to drive to any of the recommended walks.
We walked to Broad Campden from Chipping and enjoyed lunch at the pub there. We also walked to Broadway, but I feel that was a bit long for your requirements
