We are coming to London in June and I've just discovered that the day I'm planning to go to the Tower of London (June 2) will be a gun salute day. We will likely not arrive at the tower until 3 or 4 pm, and I know the gun salute is at 1:00 pm. Should I be concerned about traffic issues, or is it likely to be much more crowded than usual on that day? Any suggestions for how best to avoid problems getting in? We will be using the Tube, or taxi/ride service to get there. Thank you !

If you're taking the tube you'll be fine. If you take a taxi, you'll encounter traffic no matter what the occasion.

If you're not arriving until that late in the day, you're not going to have much time to explore. The last admission is 4pm and the buildings inside close at 4:30pm. https://www.hrp.org.uk/tower-of-london/visit/opening-and-closing-times/#gs.x5t6um

Thanks, all. I think we'll stick to the Tube. And thanks for confirming what I thought, that the tower closes at 5:30 in June.
