Visiting the Royal Academy of Arts

I'm interested in the Charles I: King & Collector exhibition. Has anyone seen it? The exhibition sounds fascinating.

I'm thinking about visiting the Royal Academy and it looks like one needs to buy tickets in advance for a specified time. I am not sure what my schedule will be but I think I would visit on Monday April 9. For those familiar with the academy, for a Monday visit, do you think I can wait until the time I arrive to buy a ticket at the Academy? The exhibition closes that Sunday, April 15.

Thanks.

Thanks David. Talk of the town! I didn't realize that this could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see these masterpieces together. I appreciate that bit of information.

If I were to get a 10am ticket on a weekday, how early should I arrive so as not to wait on long lines whether those lines are for the exhibition entrance and/or security. I had major surgery just a few weeks ago and standing for a while is very painful. I have to keep moving! Maybe a 10:30 time slot is better? I'm hoping there are places to sit in each of the galleries in the Academy.

Thanks.

I just wanted to add my recommendation as well. I was just there Saturday before last at 10 am and it really is an excellent exhibition. Well worth the price. And I agree with picking up the audio guide for an extra 3.50. The first two small rooms are uncomfortably packed and poorly designed but there are many opportunities to sit and look in the following rooms. They are open until 10 pm on Fridays if you have the opportunity.
