Visiting Salisbury Cathedral soon

Are you intending to visit Salisbury Cathedral soon? If so, it is worth checking if there will be a chance for you to see what you want to there.

There was an attack today on the Magna Carta on display there. One of only four originals it was attacked with a hammer. Due to previous security devices only the case was damaged.

I don't know how that event will alter availability to visit the Cathedral in the short term nor seeing the Magna Carta.

That's why I recommend checking before visiting.

Thanks Nigel.

The docents in that room are all about 112 years old (well, I'm late 60's and they are WAY older than I am). I am glad the Magna Carta was well protected in it's little tent and hope the watchers weren't too traumatized.

I'm thinking they will need to somehow have the viewing area made so the docents can actually see the people in there. It's so small that usually the gatekeeper back on that side of the Chapter house stands outside the viewing tent.

It was the staff there who held the attacker until police arrived.
