Visiting Cornwall- Videos

For anyone thinking about visiting Cornwall they may find this you tube Channel- Cornish Walking Trails- interesting.

From time to time, like today, for Pendennis Castle, Falmouth- it crops up in my feed.

One interesting fact about Falmouth is that when the Battle of Trafalgar was won, the King's Messenger landed at Falmouth with the news and then rode to London at top speed with the news.

A series of over 40 plaques along the full route commemorates the fact. The 271 mile route, from plaque to plaque, can be driven, and is quite an interesting route to follow- it is called The Trafalgar Way.

One of the few positive things to emerge from Covid is that the route is also now a long distance walking route- although a number of detours have had to be added which currently makes the walking route 361 miles.

Oh wow, this looks great! Thank you, Stuart! That looks very interesting and I'm heading to that Youtube channel now.

Another interesting fact about Falmouth is that Falmouth, Kentucky (which isn't too far from Cincinnati) was named after it. Well, sort of bilaterally - Falmouth KY was named after Falmouth, Virginia, which was named after the Falmouth in Cornwall). Your fact is more interesting, though. 😊
