Victoria Station Observations

I have been watching many youtube videos on and about Victoria Station.

I just watched a very good walking tour of Victoria Station. There were no captions or speaking, just a walk around the outside and inside of Victoria Station. It was very well done.

I find the Victoria Station architecture very attractive, interesting and even beautiful.

Inside, it looked to be very clean.

Lots of nice touches to make it comfortable like the Visitor Centre. I noticed a Visitor Centre plus Visitor Information. Lots of places to eat including a M&S Simply Foods. Much seating including an area designated as "Meeting" which I assume is meant for persons who are waiting on others.

But i have a question,. During my walk, there was signage with arrows pointing in direction. There was one sign that read "coaches", with an arrow. Nothing more. Is that sign pointing me to Victoria Coach Station or are there coaches that run from Victoria Station?

The sign said coaches and did not say anything about Victoria Coach Station.

I think this location is going to be a good fit for me.

Yes, and no, about coaches from Victoria Rail Station. Various services run from Buckingham Palace Road (there are a number of stops on the street between the Rail and Coach Stations) including the buses to Oxford, Windsor and Luton Airport.
That sign may also date to when Victoria had 2 coach stations- as opposite VCS there was the Green Line Coach Station (where Rabbies buses leave from now). The Green Line coach station was once a busy, bustling place, sad to see it now used mainly as a bus parking lot.

Did they show you about the Unknown Warrior after WW1? At Platforms 8 and 9 there is a plaque and information montage about the arrival of the train in 1920 conveying the unknown body from France which is now interred at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior at Westminster Abbey. There is also a plaque about the arrival at Dover Cruise Terminal (then Dover Western Docks) and the luggage van the coffin was in is now at the Kent and East Sussex Railway.
In a busy bustling station that little corner at the 8 an 9 entrance tends to be a fairly quiet corner.
