We have two full days in London before heading off to Southampton. We will be traveling to Southampton via the National Express bus from Victoria Station. We are searching for moderately priced accommodations as close as we can get to Victoria Station in London. Any suggestions will be helpful.
as close as we can get to Victoria Station in London
I don't know if it qualifies for "moderately priced". At a little over $200/nt (per booking websites), it seems to me to be pretty expensive, but it is in London. But Hotel Grosvenor is literally in Victoria Station. I stayed at the Grosvenor Hotel when I was there in 1989; it was the recommended place to stay in our company's travel manual. The first morning I was there, not knowing any better, I (the company) paid for the breakfast buffet in the hotel lobby. As I explored the area that day, I discovered that opposite the front door of the lobby was a door into the station itself and a lot of small "eating places", so the next morning I just went into the station and had a much less expensive, traditional breakfast like the Londoners might have.
At the time I thought it was fine, but that was 30 years ago.
There are several small hotels/b&bs in Ebury Street, which is just round the corner from Victoria Coach station including:

I have stayed at the Cherry Court Hotel many times.
The Lime Tree is currently closed for refurbishment (not sure when you're traveling, they will be closed at least a couple of months).
I have had very good success with the Premier Inn chain in the UK. There is a Premier Inn next to Victoria Station. They are clean and comfortable. If you are looking for a charming bed and breakfast, this isn't it. If you are looking for a well located and moderately priced accommodation, this could well be a match.
I would suggest Cherry Court Hotel as well as I’ve stayed there before. There are lots of hotels between Victoria Station and the National Express bus depot so any of the other suggestions will work too. I found Cherry Court Hotel to be more on the inexpensive side. I think it’s because they don’t offer a full breakfast. They give you fruit, a granola bar and some juice. The rooms are small but clean. To me, the hotel is a great value.
Another vote for Cherry Court. I stay there whenever I am in London.
The last three times we have used the Best Western Victoria Station and stayed in the annex. It is about three blocks more or less south, southwest of the station. Very nice with a great breakfast place around the corner, nice pub between the hotel and train station - walk right pass it. And a couple of decent restaurants. I think it is called the Belgravia area.
I've stayed at the Cherry Court. It is literally a block from Victoria Station and is cheap and clean. But the rooms are SMALL (even by London standards). If that's OK with you, we found it pleasant enough. I would have rather stayed at the Lime Tree hotel, but it was booked.
