The new PBS series about the life of Queen Victoria begins tonight (Jan. 15) on most PBS stations in the U.S.A. Victoria On Masterpiece will air in the Nashville area on Channel 8 WNPT, at 8:00 PM Central Time. 9:00 PM Eastern Time for those of you on the east coast. Check your local listings. From the promos, it appears to be an excellent production, with an excellent cast, period sets and costumes.
While on the Villages of South England tour in September, some of us saw a couple of episodes and in my opinion it was all you say it appears to be, Rebecca. I"m looking forward to watching it on PBS tonight.
I am so looking forward to Victoria. The DVR is set. But I must admit, I'll watch just about anything with Rufus Sewell in it.
Yep, agree absolutely re Rufus Sewell - he was terrific in this.

Rufus Sewell, aka, Obergruppenfuhrer Smith, aka, Ovenmittengripper Smith.
Can't wait! We've got the series ready to dvr.
As with all of the BBC imports , there is little question that this will be of the highest quality . I'm waiting for the second series of " Wolf Hall " with bated breath .
We are planning to watch the program. I know that we have seen another movie or show (perhaps series) about Queen Victoria. I wonder how different this PBS series will be from that one?
Thanks for the heads-up, planning to watch it starting tonight.
Also want to mention that starting next Sunday (1/22) there's a new series starting on PBS called "Secrets of the Six Wives" with one episode dedicated to each of Henry VIII's wives. Should also be interesting for those of us enamored with the history of the British kings and queens.
I have been waiting for months to see Victoria on Masterpiece. Looking forward to it tonight!
I am also waiting to see the new season of Wolf Hall. Absolutely stunning performances by Mark Rylance and by Claire Foy!
For anyone who can get to York before this display closes, some of the costumes from the Wolf Hall TV series are on display at the Barley Hall. This display opened in September 2016, and runs until March 24th, 2017.
