Victoria & Albert Museum

I don’t know why it took 3 different trips to London before visiting the V&A museum but I LOVED this museum. No where near the crowds of the other attractions and you could actually pause and look at something without people breathing down your neck. The jewelry collection…..took my breath away. Anyone coming to London should put it near the top of the list.

They only ask a 5 GBP donation for admission and it’s optional at that.

I see that you’re in London right now. If you have time there are now three other V&A museums in London. The children’s V&A in Bethnal Green may not be of interest but the V&A Warehouse (opened last year) and the V&A East (opened in April) and both in Stratford are well worth seeing and easy to get to.

If any interest I found the Hunterian Museum fascinating. It’s near the Royal Courts of Justice.
Check opening and closing times online.

I also recommend Sir John Soane's Museum (across the park not too far from the Hunterian just suggested). Wasn't crowded at all and a quirky and interesting collection.

I agree. I love the decorative arts (furniture, jewelry, china, silver, etc) and they had all that in great abundance. Could have spent a full day there, maybe two.
