Veezu?

Well be visiting an area where I'll need to make atleast 3 taxi journeys. Normally I just look up and note the several local companies. There's usually several to select from. This time the only company that comes up is Veezu which label themselves as, "Veezu is the UK's fastest growing taxi and private hire technology platform operating across hundreds of UK towns...". Other companies with extant websites such as Go Cars or Diamond all say they've been bought by or rebranding to Veezu. https://www.veezu.co.uk/

My only question is for anyone that has actually used them, what am I getting & how is Veezu's service?

Never heard of them

Me neither. I suspect that’s why nobody has replied. I’m here in the UK and I have never heard anything about them. Just use a local taxi firm: which area are you going to be in?

EDITED: a bit more research suggests that they might be an umbrella organisation that’s now handling taxi booking in some areas but yeah, a completely new name to me till I read your post.

EDITED AGAIN: I looked up a taxi firm that I’m aware of in a city I no longer live in, but that I’ve recommended in the past, and came up with this - it looks as if Veezu are effectively buying up local taxi firms in order to try to create a kind of Uber-rival using existing taxi fleets. https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/business/portsmouth-based-taxi-company-aqua-cars-acquired-by-veezu-4569201?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook&fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR1NpeYvWapgI4v5qHjWiOzbbAgCoh_xZs1he1QJz2i2Ax1BtRFgHQ56Fxc_aem_QCfqZI6hvm7nZ_XqdbE3XA#Echobox=1711454422

I've never heard of them. Must be fastest under the radar. Or marketing speak.

All the taxis and private hires around here are much the same as they have been except one new really awful driver who will eventually get his come-uppance - I just hope it doesn't involve anybody in another car or a fare.

Looking at reviews in various places, unlike most taxi firms where experiences reported tend to be mixed, Veezu seems to be widely assessed as poor, especially for pre-bookings.

Well, I'm here in Ironbridge and have used Veezu three times. The app set up was simple. I chose not to add my card details to the app, so I've been using the cash payment option. When I've used the app to call for a pick up, I get the exact fare and I've had drivers arriving within 5 minutes. Easy peasy.

We were just in Leeds returning our rental car and needed a taxi to the train station. The Europcar agent called a cab for us, which turned out to be Veezu. Worked great, just like Uber. You need the app to pay by card, otherwise, you must use cash (at least, that's how it was for our ride). We had a great chat with the driver all the way to the station!
