Using self service machines to collect prepaid train tickets in Woking

Has anyone used the self service machines to collect prepaid Southeastern train tickets in Woking?

If not, how difficult is it to buy train tickets to Salisbury at the Woking train station?

Thanks very much for any and all advice.

DId exactly as Emma indicated last year in England. It worked like a charm. But, as she said, make sure you pull all the bits of tickets out. I wasn't prepared for the several slips that the machine spit out. Luckily, I just grabbed them all and glad I did!

It looks to me like there is no point in buying Advance pre-paid tickets for this journey as the pay on the day fare is the same as booking ahead. A single (one way) is £25.90 - so, you can buy from the ticket machine on arrival or pay a humanoid at the station.

PS> If you do book ahead, when you tap in the booking reference number, you also have to insert the SAME debit card on which the booking was made. (Or, take the booking reference to the ticket clerk for issue of tickets).

Thank you very much for your advice, James!!

I'm very happy to know I don't need to worry about buying tickets in advance! I will relax and just buy them when we arrive.

Hi Emma, Lisa, and Ray,

Thank you so much for all of your advice!!

I may wait to buy them until we arrive, but I think we may still use the self service machines to possibly save some time.

I really appreciate all of your help!
