Updated: NO TRAINS in or out of Paddington this morning - significant delays into tomorrow

Major electric problems caused by damage to the overhead electric wires at Ealing out of Paddington station last night means NO TRAINS to or from Heathrow for at least several hours including at least all this morning.

No Heathrow Connect.
No Heathrow Express.

Use Piccadilly Tube instead.

There are NO TRAINS at all going anywhere in or out of Paddington until at least mid afternoon.

To quote National Rail:

Yesterday evening the overhead electric wires near Ealing Broadway
were severely damaged. As a result of this, trains are unable to run
to and from London Paddington.

Network Rail are working to recover all the stranded trains and to
rectify the damage to the overhead electric wires. Network Rail expect
to reopen 2 of the 4 lines from midday. However trains will remain
disrupted until the end of the day.

How is this affecting the train service?

Trains are unable to run between London Paddington and Slough /
Heathrow Airport.

Great Western Railway

Most trains will start / terminate at Reading, with a reduced train
service operating between Reading and Slough.

Customers are advised not to travel between London Paddington and
Slough until the lines reopen.

If you are travelling to London from beyond Reading please do not go
to London Paddington but instead travel straight to either London
Waterloo, London Marylebone or London Euston.

UPDATE: National Rail says much work to repair and delays and cancellations will continue tomorrow

Oh no that is a major line. Are other things in Ealing Broadway affected by this electrical problem? We know a family in Ealing where we did a month long house exchange 2.5 years ago. Loved the town and convenience of the train line.

There is now a limited service of sorts running to/from Paddington, but probably best avoided if possible.

No electric trains after 21:00 tonight, so that would see off the Heathrow services, and many of the local stopping services.
