Up to date comments about myuksimcard DOT com

Fellow travelers,
I've looked at the site and the offering - 25GB data for 30 days and $35 - is reasonable in cost and I get the SIM and the phone# before departure . The 14-day, 20GB Orange Holiday Europe is 40 Euros and we will be in UK/Europe more than 14 days, but less than 30.

Has anyone on the forum had recent experience with myuksimcard? Note that using our current plan provider is a non-starter since it does not offer any roaming outside the US.

Thanks,
Phil

Have you confirmed that the MyUKSimCard allows free roaming in the EU countries you will visit? Since Brexit the requirement for free roaming no longer applies, as I understand it.

Their site says:
My UK SIM Card works in the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) and has free roaming in more than 30 European countries. - Those countries include France and Germany which is what I require in addition to UK.

It may be worth checking if there is any ' roaming' usage limit.

Giffgaff also offers free roaming of 5gb in EU outside UK. It offers free Wi-Fi at all underground stations.

Lebara is a bit more generous in Roaming limit, but you can't order them to be posted to your overseas address.

If you have to make reservations at restaurants, having a local Uk number in UK or a EU number in EU can help.

It appears the 25GB is fully usable in the UK, but only 12 GB usable outside without incurring roaming fees. For my use this works since I will be on the Continent first and UK second. I can’t see using 12 GB outside UK, but will use the remainder to the max.

The ability to have the new cell # allows me to set up alerts on it before travel - one more box ticked.
