We land in Terminal 5 on BA with a long layover, would it be easy to head to the United Arrivals Lounge which looks like terminal 2? TIA!!!!
No, I wouldn't bother, it's far too much effort. What do you want to use the lounge for? Is it for a shower or for breakfast, or both?
What cabin are you travelling? If it's business or first I'd just take the breakfast on board and look to getting out of Heathrow as soon as possible.
We're planning on using the AA arrivals lounge at T3 next week but if it required a change of terminal we wouldn't bother, none of the US carrier lounges are worth the effort to travel to different terminals for.
According to Heathrow’s website, United’s arrival lounge is in the public side to T2’s arrival area. As such you would need to go through UK passport control. So it’s probably not worth it unless you have a very long connecting time at LHR.

A friend of mine has used miles several times to get business class tickets on BA to London. He is a big fan of the BA arrivals lounge. He says that by the time he's had a shower, massage, and hot breakfast, he feels like a human being again!
If you're not flying business or first class on that day, I don't think you can use the arrivals lounge for that airline. So, if you have a "fancy" ticket on BA, you can use their lounge; if you're in coach, you can't use anyone's arrivals lounge.
Thanks. I didn’t think it would work, it looks pretty far away on the map. We have free access to United. I really just wanted to freshen up and put in my contacts before we hop onto the Heathrow Express to spend the day in the city. I’ll just do a bathroom somewhere!!!
Since you are going to be landside anyway and have access not tied to any flights etc you can go there by changing terminals first, but it is a bit of a hike from either the Underground or rail platforms (and back).
The arrivals lounge at Heathrow 2 is only for passengers arriving on United flights in Polaris 1st or Business. The amount of time you are allowed to stay is limited. Club membership does not apply.
The arrivals lounge is shared with other Star Alliance members using Terminal 2. Those airlines will give you a pass that lets you in if you are in the correct class on your flight in.
It is one of the better clubs in the United network and puts every other one I have ever been in to shame.
