UK trip 2027

Hi all,
We're planning a trip to the UK next spring. We've been to Scotland but want to see Wales, London and York.

Our plan is to spend a few nights in London before being picked up at Victoria for a five day / four nite tour of Wales with Rabbies, including stops in the Cotswolds.. Does anyone have experience with them, esp. their Wales tours? They drop us off at the end of the fifth day back at Victoria.

Then it's another three nites in London (Clermont Victoria Hotel). We're then going to take the train to York and spend four nites there (Milner Hotel). Any suggestions for tours, sights, restaurants in York. One thing we'd like to do is take a tour out into the countryside (the Dales) as well as see some sights in the city as well. A must for me will be Evensong at the Minster.

We then will take the train to Edinburgh, where we've been before for the last two nites (Apex Grassmarket hotel). Then it's back to Boston.

Any thoughts on any of this will be appreciated.

I have not done Rabbies Wales tour but did the one that goes there and York and it was great. Mountain Goat does tours of the Dales from York. I have not been on any of their tours, but hope to do so next July

We had a wonderful Rabbies tour of Cornwall and Devon. It was not expensive and our guide/driver was fantastic.

We loved Wales. My paternal ancestors came from Cardiganshire in SW Wales. We visited the small village where my ancestors left for the new world in 1716. Love St. Davids, Tenby and Cardiff and all the castles in S. Wales. North Wales was great as well, Conwy and more scenic places.

York is great, loved the Minster, ancient walls and all the museums.

I am taking the Rabbie’s Wales tour in May.

I have done many single-day and two three-day tours with them. I’m a huge Rabbie’s fan. Their tours are such a great way to see places that are more difficult using public transportation.

For the multi-day tours, I always book my own hotels.

From York, I did day tours with both Mountain Goat and Bob Holiday. Highly recommend both companies. It looks like Bob Holiday was purchased by Best of Britain – Yorkshire Day Tours.
