UK ETA Fee increase April 9

On the official website: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta#how-much-it-costs under "How much it costs", it says the cost will go up to £16 April 9.

Question... I went to https://uk-eta.com/uk-eta-application and got almost all the way through the application process when suddenly I was asked to choose a desired processing time. The least expensive option was £79.50. Does that seem correct? So, £10 for the fee and a big old processing fee on top? Thank you.

Wrong site! Use the https://www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration website. Most people get their approval within seconds or minutes.
I had a friend who paid $240 by using a different site. It should have www.gov.uk as the official site.
Be wary that you gave up personal information to an unknown entity.

As a basic rule, government sites use government domains. For the UK that's gov.uk. Most applications take only a few minutes.

The site you were at was a private company that charges a hefty fee for something you can do in five minutes.
