I applied for a UK Eta and said I didn't have biometric symbol on my passport. Filled it and was accepted, I found out I do have the symbol. Should I reapply?
Hmmm, I’m just now about to apply for mine, on the official ETA app. I do have a biometric symbol, so I’m going with that.
In your case, since you were accepted, wouldn’t that cancel out any other applications? With your unique name, passport number, etc., there shouldn’t be any other applications awaiting acceptance.
Now, you were accepted, but is that different from “approved?” Have you received your ETA, or is that still being processed?
No, you are fine. Reading the chip merely speeds the process. As long as you have a response it was approved, you are good.
If by "accepted" you mean it indicated you successfully applied, but not yet approved, I would just wait for a response and take their lead.
I incorrectly said accepted, it was approved.
That’s great that your ETA was accepted. Have a good trip.
I got my application submitted via the app, paid m $13.45, and am awaiting final approval. When I got to the part to scan my passport’s chip, the app couldn’t (wouldn’t?) find the chip. I tried scanning multiple tines unsuccessfully, but ultimately hit “Skip” on the scanning page, and it took me to a page to confirm my passport number, name, and birthdate. I could’ve entered the information manually in less time than it took to try scanning over and over again. Kind of like getting thru airport security, it finally happened, but it wasn’t exactly a smooth process.
